Based on our own specs. Full range sound, incredibly agile and fast. A614 is the smallest available product featuring our Coaxial transducer. Custom made for high and stable impedance, made for ductless venting. It offers incredibly nimble bass, with a nice and generous tone around 40 Hz and super tight impact, and superbly linear from 100 Hz up to and above 22 000 HZ.
A614, known as the utility portable monitor is the best ratio in terms of relatively low volume, while preserving the Heretic Identity: All Heretics are built from 12 mm canadian ultra premium birch ply. Why? Because of tone. Plywood has a tone that isn’t matched by any other material. Tone comes from rigidity, lightness and compliance. But not too much! How much is perfect is our trade secret, and we would love you to find out!
The A614 Western Black Patina – 1930s and 1940s non-color, somewhat black, like a dark chocolate almost charred surface. The patina is achieved by multiple coats of pigments and the same number of ultra fine grit hand sandings, followed by a thin coat of bee’s wax. Available with or without Mellotone grille.
The interior is left unfinished and should be left that way to let the wood “breathe” through seasonal humidity variations. The wood surface will become darker as it ages and will eventually have that classic golden hue, but patience is required!
Comes with speakon connectors: simple twist and lock. Requires Speakon terminated cables.
Choice of Mahogany stain patina, Dark Chocolate patina or Textured Studio black, with or without Mellotone® grills.
